Nissan joins hands with King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang to support the study of electric mobility education

The donation of first-generation Nissan LEAF aims to help university students gain insights and experience in electric mobility

The recipient was Associate Professor Dr. Somyot Kaitwanidvilai, Dean, School of Engineering.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Nissan Thailand, led by Masao Tsutsumi, Vice President for Marketing, Sales and Dealer Network Development has donated Nissan LEAF to King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) to support the University’s valuable research in batteries and battery management systems for stationary energy storage by reuse or second-life battery. The initiave aims to create value and conserve resources and electric vehicle technology. The vehicle was received by Associate Professor Dr. Somyot Kaitwanidvilai, Dean, on behalf of the university.

In this collaboration, members of the Faculty of Engineering will have the opportunity to study the physical structure of electric vehicles. This will guide research and development of various equipment and systems suitable for use in electricity, allowing them to gain in-depth knowledge and hands-on practice.

Nissan also organized the "Train the Trainer project" on electric vehicle technology for the faculty members in January and provided opportunities for students to visit the production line of automobiles and high-voltage batteries for electric vehicles at the Nissan manufacturing plant in Samut Prakan Province. These activities aim to provide experience in electric vehicles and nurture future professional engineers and skilled technicians to contribute to innovation for the nation.
