BANGKOK, THAILAND (28 February 2023) – Nissan Thailand, together with Raks Thai Foundation, Nissan’s partner who supports Nissan Youth Leadership Development Program jointly open the culinary facility at Wat Suwan Rangsan school in Rayong Province.

Nissan has a presence in Thailand for over 70 years and aims to drive innovation to enrich people’s lives. Young Leadership Program (YLD) is a cooperation program held by Nissan Care International Japan and Raks Thai Foundation, initiated in 2019. The program aims at promoting leadership and required vocational skills for entrepreneurs among targeted young students. Nissan Thailand’s YLD program has contributed to more than 16 schools in Ayutthaya, Rayong and Samut Prakarn. The program has seen significant progress as the number of participating students reached over 2,000 students in 2022.

“Nissan is determined to ‘drive’ innovation to enrich people’s lives. This is our reason to be at the core of everything we do. We have engaged in a wide range of activities to support local communities in Thailand. We are proud to be able to help equip Thai youth with skills necessary to optimize their potential and prepare them to enter the workforce of the future,” said Isao Sekiguchi, President of Nissan Thailand.

The “Suwan Bakery”, a culinary facility, equipped with baking tools, raw materials and commercial containers are funded by Nissan and support from the community nearby to make this facility ready to help young students pursue their dream while learning leadership skills. The students from YLD program learn about leadership skills and life skills during the YLD camp during the beginning of the school year. Adapting the skills from the camp and STEM (Science, Technology, English and mathematics) concept help students to be able to start their school project with confidence.

“Thank you Nissan Thailand who have been supporting Wat Suwan Rangsan school for the last 3 years. It was also a good opportunity for our students to be able to learn more about Nissan’s car like Kicks e-POWER and its innovation. Our students from primary school to junior high school were so excited to get on a steering wheel, touch and feel the innovations. Some of them have never seen a cutting-edge technology car, especially the new design of the gear knob which really represents the future of mobility.”, said Ms. Phanshita Kanokpongsathian Wat Suwan Rangsan school’s director.
